Print4UK is backing the Carbon Capture movement

The very nature of our business means we’re extremely aware of the impact our work can have on the environment.  As many of you know, we’re always looking to reduce our carbon footprint through a range of measures such as minimising waste, using recycled products, promoting environmental awareness, reducing travel and saving water.

As paper is central to what we do, one of the most visible ways that we’re giving back is through our support of the Woodland Trust Carbon Capture Programme. The trust’s aim is to mitigate CO2 emissions by planting trees in Woodland Carbon sites.

And it’s making a big difference.

Since the start of Print4UK’s Carbon Capture involvement in November 2018 up to the end of March 2019, Print4UK have captured approximately 12.286 tonnes of CO2, creating approximately 307.15 sqm of new native woodland. The Woodland Trust calculates they’re able to plant approximately 5 trees per 25sqm depending on the species and terrain. On that basis, Print4UK have helped to create approximately 61 trees!

Along with several other environmentally-conscious businesses, we’ve helped raise over £800,000 for the Woodland Trust, planting more than 260,000 trees and capturing 52,287 tonnes of CO2. The aim is to hit the £1 Million milestone during 2019!

In the months, and years, to come we’ll be giving you updates to our progress. And, where possible, we’ll be asking our customers to help us in our efforts by allowing the Woodland Carbon logo to appear on their printed media. Not only does this allow you, our customers, to show your commitment to the environment, it also helps spread the word!

If you’d like to know more about how we’re trying to do our bit for global warming, please email john.attard@print4uk.com . And if you’d like to see an example of the what we’re achieving in practice (along with our paper supplier, the Premier Paper Group and the Woodland Trust), grab a coffee, put your feet up and take a look at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgMkpqKdMVs&t=95s
