Digital Printer Awards 2019 finalist at our first attempt!
Print4UK has been nominated in the Self-promotional print category with our “Feed your creativity” campaign – an icebreaker designed to wow prospective clients. How? By pushing the boundaries of digital print in both design and innovation.
What is the campaign?
It is a, branded ‘pizza box’ accommodating a creative swatch, which is slotted into its bespoke die-cut tray and both are designed to look like a pizza topping. This is delivered ‘naked’, no envelope needed, to the selected recipient.
Wiro bound swatch
The ‘pizza slice’, a 20-page swatch which just begs to be picked up and examined, provides examples of stunning substrates, special inks and a range of printing techniques of our amazing HP Indigo Digital Press designed to stimulate and surprise.
Attention to detail
When the swatch is removed from its tray it reveals fake grease marks that look incredibly authentic. And, it didn’t stop there – attached to each hand delivered ‘pizza’, was a personalised receipt, taped to the lid – a level of detail that not only enhances the overall experience it provides excellent evidence of the inventive thinking at Print4UK.
QR code
Attached to the inside of the lid of the box is a personalised £25 pizza voucher. Designed by our creative services team to look like a branded gift card it is activated when the QR code is scanned. This takes the clients to a landing page where arrangements are made to deliver the genuine voucher and, hopefully, an opportunity to showcase much more of what Print4UK can do.
It is all in the finish
One of the challenges faced in the design was how to add durability to a product traditionally disposed of in one day. We obviously want the pizza box to be passed around the office long enough to make an impact without wearing out too quickly. So we laminated the it on the inside, rather than the outside, with biodegradable laminate film. Not only did this improve its lifetime it still looked like a pizza box.
We are extremely proud with what has been produced through the collaborative efforts of all the teams at Print4UK. Being recognised by peers in the industry is both genuinely flattering and inspirational, giving us the impetus to go on and find more ways of thinking out of the ‘pizza?’ box.
